Wal-Mart to purchase power from Duke Energy's Notrees wind farm (Energy Business Review)
Wal-Mart Stores has announced its first substantial purchase of wind energy in the US. The wind power will supply up to 15% of the retailers total energy load in approximately 360 Texas stores and other facilities. The power will come from a Duke Energy wind farm under construction in Notrees, Texas, which is expected to begin producing electricity by April 2009.
